First, we got the news of Rock n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios closing or being re-imagined with The Muppets. And now this...

One of my favorite rides in Orlando, Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios might be going away! WFTV obtained a permit submitted by Universal, calling for removing an existing attraction. A map connected with the permit shows the location of the “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.”

The ride first opened back in August of 2009 and might be going away. The permits filed were for water drainage and show’s the theme parks plans for the space, which is just over 6-acres. It looks like Rip Ride Rockit will be removed to make room for the construction of two larger buildings that’s planned for the park’s New York section.

The permits were filed on 12/23/2024 and is currently under review. Universal hasn’t announced any closing dates for the ride as of yet or provided any additional information as to what might be replacing the ride that we’ve all loved for 15-years. Whatever it is, I’m sure it’ll be amazing!
