ORLANDO, FL — 8 A.M. UPDATE:
Our sister station WFTV reports, that Emergency management officials say the “Emergency Alert” test issued at 4:45 a.m. this morning was sent out by mistake.
Emergency Management officials said, “The whole of the emergency management community apologizes for this error and steps will be taken to prevent it from occurring again.”
According to their release, there will be large-scale exercises simulating major, multi-patient medical emergencies today.
Officials say people in Florida may see increased ambulance traffic around the hospitals but no part of this exercise will impact patient care.

Did you hear it? We figured you did.
An “Emergency Alert System” test sounded on off at 4:45 A.M. in all Floridian devices.
The question is, why was it so early? Well, right now we don’t know.
However, with the amount of reaction it caused, we may soon have an answer on who made the decision to make it so early in the morning.
If the test woke you up this morning, let us know on Twitter or leave us an “Open Mic” in the WDBO app!
