Fifty years after McDonald’s first introduced the iconic breakfast sandwich, it will be offering it to customers for just 63 cents.
On Thursday, Nov. 18, McDonald’s restaurants will all be selling the Egg McMuffin for 63 cents, the price when it was first introduced, CNN reported.
The first Egg McMuffins were served in 1971 in Santa Barbara, California, USA Today reported. The sandwiches were available nationally in 1975.
If you want to get the deal, you need to download the McDonald’s app first. The promotion is offered there exclusively, as part of the restaurant’s efforts to boost its reward program.
Customers won’t be limited to the original Egg McMuffin on Thursday. Fans will also be invited to try Egg McMuffins with bacon and tomato, or with grape jelly and hash browns.
